Road Angels

These are some fine folks I met and gave a ride a little further down the road, on the drive along Highway 60 and 180 from Tempe, AZ to Las Cruces, NM.  They had great spirits and interest for the unknown, others and traveling,  some fresh air in humanity and renewal of the less is more and love for life.

The place to be

This is a quote I remember seeing on a guy's shirt back in Knoxville:

"Tennessee is the place to be, unless you're somewhere else."

Horno

This a horno (mud oven) I made completely from found materials:
Fire bricks from my neighbor
Old glass bottles for insulation
Wood chips and sawdust for insulation
Cedar strands from swamp cooler mat for fiber reinforcement
Sand from my neighbor
Soil excavated from basin of a dam
Strong back and sweat from yours truly

Found Notebook 2

These are from the same found notebook as the drawings.  The child appears to be studying english and spanish. The stories are quite bizarre, amusing and slightly morbid.

Found notebook 1

These drawings by a child were in a notebook found while walking along the irrigation canals.

R.I.P. Green Swing #1

The cottonwood has shed it's green dangly's early this year.  Green swing #1 is no more.  Just as it appeared spontaneously, it has disappeared.  However, out of this loss, more green swings will sprout all about.  The natural order of things continues.
